Chinese Kung Fu is composed of a series of fighting styles that have developed over a long historical period in China. If there is one name that has international influence in the field of Kung Fu, it would undoubtedly be Bruce Lee. In his most famous movie “ Enter the Dragon “, he earned a reputation as one of the most popular and skilled people to practice this form of martial arts.

Shaolin is one of the oldest institutionalized styles of Chinese Kung Fu, developed over the course of 1500 years at the Buddhist Shaolin Temple in Henan province. Performing amazing feats of strength, flexibility, pain-endurance (both mental and physical), Shaolin monks have garnered a worldwide reputation as the ultimate Buddhist warriors.

Impossible feats of inhuman strength have always fascinated the western world. Prominent Polish photographer Tomasz Gudzowaty, whose interests include alternative sports like Mexican wrestling and small arena car racing, has helped the outside world understand the incredible human feats taking place in the land beneath the ancient temple. He holed up with Shaolin monks, documenting a handful of the rigorous training routines that they must endure in order to elevate themselves to a higher level of consciousness.
